Key Signature Worksheets
As an Associate Instructor at Indiana University, I taught MUS-E 241: Music Fundamentals. This was a required course for Elementary Education majors, and most of my students had very little music experience. One of the things they struggled with most was writing scales and identifying key signatures. I developed many resources to help them practice this skill, and tried to present the information in as many learning modes as possible. In class, we played games like "Major Scale Hopscotch," where they had to move different distances to create the whole steps and half steps in a major scale. We also sang various scales to aurally reinforce this concept. The resources below were meant to appeal primarily to visual learners while giving all students opportunites outside of class to practice the material.
